• When CP24, Toronto’s new 24 hour news station, was given the space for its new flagship studio in Toronto, they called on Eclipse Production + Design. The only caveat- the space, former home to Bravo, an arts specialty channel, which often hosted small intimate concerts and performances- had to have a completely different new look and feel in line with CP24’s news and current events focus.

The team at Eclipse came up with an ambitious plan- a ‘flip’ of the studio and office space, complete with a physical overhaul of the space- remove the arts specific elements and replace them with pieces that highlighted CP24’s urban nature and current, up-to-the-minute news focus.

  • Following a detailed planning process, review of the design concepts with the management team, and production meetings with the station’s technical teams, the Eclipse Production+Design team headed to Toronto to oversee the work. The set design called for an open concept, allowing the cameras full access and mobility around the space to capture unique angles and perspectives throughout the day. Eclipse worked onsite with the station’s in-house contractors to ensure that the electrical, flooring, lighting plans moved forward quickly and that all were aligned to avoid duplication and unnecessary delays.

  • CP24’s new home was instrumental in creating a unique identity for the station and in creating a sense of ownership with the residents of Toronto.
